Shared recording: recipient can't access it

Are you experiencing trouble accessing a recording someone has shared with you? This guide outlines what to do if you can't access the recording.

In this guide, we'll be referring to the person who shared the recording with you as 'the Sharer', and you, the person receiving the recording, as 'the Recipient'.

Both parties are encouraged to communicate during these steps to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Note:

When a Sharer shares a recording with you from their Nomono Cloud account, access is granted to your personal Nomono Cloud account.

Therefore, make sure that the Sharer uses the email address associated with your Nomono Cloud account. If the recording is shared to a different email address than the one connected to your account, you will be required to create a new account under that email address.

To avoid this inconvenience, confirm the correct email address is used from the beginning. The Sharer can change or add new email addresses at any time, but you won't see the recording in your account if they share it with a different email address.

Step 1

Recipient's task:

Let the Sharer know exactly what email you want the recording shared to.

  • The easiest way is to simply send them a normal email from the preferred email account. This should make it crystal clear what email you want them to share with.

Step 2

Sharer's task:

  • Check the email you received from the recipient.
    • Confirm the Recipient's email address.
    • Ensure there are no typographical errors in the email address used for sharing the recording.

Step 3

Sharer's task:

  1. Log into your Nomono Cloud account.
  2. Navigate to the specific recording you intend to share.
  3. Click on the three dots located on the right side of the recording.

Step 4

Sharer's task:

  • Click "Share".

  • Verify that the Recipient's email address is correctly listed under the shared recording's details (there's no emails listed in the picture).

Step 6

Recipient's task:

  • Log into your Nomono Cloud account using the email address the Sharer used for sharing the recording.

Note: If you have multiple accounts, ensure you are logged into the correct one account (it must be the same email the Sharer shared the recording with).

Recipient's task:

Got more than one account? Sometimes, web browsers can be a bit tricky and sign you into the wrong one. To make sure you're in the right account – the one where your recording is waiting – let's quickly double-check. It's always better to be sure you're in the right place!

  1. Once logged in, navigate to the top corner and click on the yellow circle.
  2. Click "Settings

  • Confirm that the email account displayed is the one the recording was shared with.

Recipient's task:

Now, let's look for the recoding.

  • Click the button labelled with an arrow to return to the home screen of your Nomono Cloud account.

  • Click "Shared with me" in the left menu bar.

You should now see the shared recording. If the recording is not visible, please contact our support team for further assistance.
