Download my recording

Reading time: 5 minutes

Do you want to download your recording? Here we show you how.

You can download files from multiple locations within Cloud. Dependent on where your recording currently is saved, find it there first. In the picture below, we explain what the different options in the left side bar means.

1. "From Sound Capsule"

This is where you will find recordings after your Sound Capsule have uploaded recordings to your Nomono Cloud Account.

If your Sound Capsule have been set to upload recordings to someone else's Workspace rather than to your own, the owner of that workspace will find the recording in "From Sound Capsule" as well.

2. "Shared with me"

If a collaborator have shared a recording with you, this is where you will find it.

3. "Projects"

Your recording will only appear in your project folder is you have manually moved them there yourself.

Now, let's get into how to download your recordings.

Download your recording

Step 1

Go to the file you want to record and click the three dots to the right.

Step 2

Click Download.

Step 3

A box displaying your download options will appear.

If you want to download the Enhanced version of your recording (Enhancement is the AI process where we improve the audio in your recording), make sure the episode has been enhanced first.

In the event that your episode has not been enhanced, the following notification will be displayed:

If your recording haven't been enhanced, do so first.

For guidance on how to Enhanceme your recording, please click here. Once you have successfully enhanced your recording, you may return to this step and continue to Step 4.

Step 4

Understanding your download options

Once your recording has been successfully enhanced, you'll be presented with various download options. It's important to choose the right format based on your needs. Underneath the picture, we have written a guide to help you understand what type of files you need in your situation.

a) Mix

What is the Mix?

The Mix option combines the audio from the Tracks (the audio recorded with the Stellar Microphones) into a single, cohesive file. The mix does not include the Ambisonics B-format audio (the audio recorded with your Space Recorder).

When do you need the Mix?

Choose the Mix if you intend to upload your recording directly to a podcast hosting platform (like Buzzfeed or Acast). For this purpose, downlod the mix as an MP3 file, not as Wav.

b) Tracks

What are Tracks?

Tracks refer to separate audio files for each Stellar Microphone used during your recording session. If you've recorded with one Stellar Mic, you'll receive a single file. However, if you utilized all four Stellar Mics, you'll receive four distinct files.

When do you need Tracks?

Tracks are ideal when you plan to further edit your recording using external editing software (such as Logic, Garageband, or Audacity). In such cases, you should download the tracks as WAV, not MP3. This ensures optimal audio quality and editing flexibility.

c) Ambisonics B-format

What is Ambizonics B-format?

Ambisonics B-format is the spatial audio file recorded using your Space Recorder, which features eight built-in microphones. These microphones capture the ambient environment during your podcast recording, offering an immersive audio experience. This file is an addition to the tracks from your Stellar Microphones.

When do you need Ambisonics B-format?

If your podcast episode aims to include environmental audio for an immersive listening experience, the Ambisonics B-format file is your go-to choice. It adds depth and realism to your episode.

Step 5

Finalizing your download selection

  1. Select your preferred download option: in this example, we have opted to download the Tracks.
  2. Click the "prepare download" button. This action cues Nomono Cloud to start preparing your selected files for download.

After clicking the button, Nomono Cloud gets to work preparing your files. As soon as Nomono Cloud completes the preparation, the download will automatically start. You won't have to wait long – the process is designed for efficiency, ensuring that your files will be on your computer in no time.

Your files should now have been downloaded to your computer!
